GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WBAY) – The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay was presented Tuesday by the Oneida Nation with a donation of $ 150,000.

The donation as part of the cooperative government agreement that the Oneida Nation signed with the City of Green Bay earlier this year.

The sanctuary superintendent says donations like these help the sanctuary continue to care for animals and educate the public for free.

We are a free community park open daily. Therefore, donations like this are incredibly important. These go to support our wildlife rehab program and so on. And all of these animals that are here came to us and couldn’t be released back into the wild. So this is a good place, permanent home for them, but this also allows the students and the community to get close to these animals. A whole new appreciation and way of promoting the next generation of environmentalists.>
