Belton Parks and Recreation welcomes Soggy Doggy Day

Man’s best friend will again have the opportunity to hang around with his dog’s buds and have a good time at this year’s Soggy Doggy Day.

COVID-19 canceled the day last summer, but this year it will take place on Saturday, September 11th, at the Harris Community Park Splash Pad, 310 N. Alexander St in Belton, and is hosted by Belton Parks and Recreation.

According to Belton Journal, Harris Community Park Splash Pad will be fenced in and lots of activities are planned for this year’s event, such as a photo booth to capture the moment for a lifetime and dog paw canvas art.

Belton Department of Parks and Recreation Recreation Coordinator Manuel Zapata tells the Belton Journal: “It’s definitely important to give your pets this unique opportunity to play in the water and really socialize. It’s a great opportunity not only to play in the water for the pets, but we will also be doing other activities there for the pets and pet owners. “

The Harris Community Park Splash Pad is open from 10:00 PM to 1:00 PM on the gated area on the 11th.

Your dog must also be familiar with rabies and DHLPPV vaccines, and puppies must be at least six months old and have their parvo vaccinations as well. Please no bitches in heat, as this may make her the most popular bitch in the pool. Also, dogs that are known to be aggressive towards humans are not allowed.

Doggy sunscreen may be required, but I’ll leave that up to you.
