Business Beat – Henderson State Bank Announces Promotion | Latest news

It sounds like the young man has had enough to keep himself busy these days.

My contact in the Central Valley Ag office here in York, Mary Jo Uphoff, is in the CVA office after her last week. She’s been there since I don’t know how many years my contact person for work has been.

It is, so to speak, the Swiss Army Knife for the office. Over the years I’ve gone there I’ve seen her do a number of tasks including preparing food in the kitchen.

She is retiring this week with husband Mike, who ends his working relationship with Cross County Schools. Mary Jo said she will spend her free time doing some chores around the house. “I have a few things to do,” she said. “That way we will be ready to do more camping next summer.”

CVA will host a reception on Wednesday, December 29, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to allow employees and customers to thank her for her services to the cooperative.

Cornerstone Bank announces action

Cornerstone Bank’s Board of Directors, at its most recent meeting, announced the promotion of the following bank executive:

Aaron Purvis has been named vice president and chief credit officer of Cornerstone Bank in York. He was also elected to the bank’s board of directors. He will work closely with all of the bank’s lending departments and will continue to serve on the Senior Loan Committee, which now chairs the committee.
