The Marion County Animal Shelter is asking for new, gently worn shoes to fund a new animal shelter

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Marion County Animal Shelter relies heavily on donations to help the animals it cares for, but this time they’re asking for shoes for humans.

The shelter is holding a fundraiser through Funds2Orgs to fund the renovation of its new building.

The shoes go to Funds2Orgs, which then ship the shoes to developing countries. In return, Funds2Orgs donates 40 cents to the shelter for every pound of shoes donated.

Bree Courcy of the Marion County Animal Shelter said their goal was to collect about 2,500 new or slightly used shoes, which would help them raise about $1,000 to use for their new building at 501 E. McIntyre Street will.
