The Riley Gale Foundation was created in honor of the late power trip front man

A new charity called The Riley Gale Foundation was formed in honor of the late Power Trip frontman, who died a year ago next week (August 24).

The foundation will partner with Dallas Hope Charities and the LGBTQ transition home named after him, supporting animal rescues, mental health programs and more. His family will manage the foundation and offer that they are “committed to distributing 100% of all net proceeds of the foundation to those in need and the contributions will be transparent and public”.

The foundation will host an event to celebrate Gale’s life entitled “Riley & Friends Day, Vol. 1” this coming Wednesday, August 25th, at the Deep Ellum Art Co. in Dallas, TX.

A press release explains more about the foundation:

“Riley Gale was a force of nature in the heavy music community. Anyone who has met Riley knows that he loved his fans and considered them extended members of his family. He was always quick with a smile and words of encouragement and comfort.

“Riley was also a champion for those who are misunderstood, marginalized and mistreated. He wanted everyone to be treated with kindness, love and respect, regardless of their origin or social status. His lyrics and the actions he took backstage showed Riley’s desire to make the world a better place.

“When Riley died on August 25, 2020, it was a devastating blow to everyone who knew and loved him. His friends and family continue to mourn, but they have also promised to continue Riley’s legacy of benefiting others.

With that in mind, Riley’s friends, fans, and the entire Gale family are excited to announce the official launch of the Riley Gale Foundation, a 501 (C) (3) charity.

“Riley obviously loved music, but he also vehemently defended those marginalized by society. He used his influence to encourage others to provide time, money, and emotional support for those in need. When Riley died, the family asked for donations to Dallas Hope Charities, his favorite charity. Donations came from all over the world and made it possible for Dallas Hope Charities to buy a home for people going through a difficult transition.

“Riley loved animals too. If he had, Riley would have saved every stray, abandoned, or abused dog he saw. Tommy, his beloved, weird-looking mutt, was always by his side.

“The Riley Gale Foundation will continue to support Dallas Hope Charities and similar organizations. It will also support local, neighborhood-based animal rescues that are in constant need of money and supplies. You will support and contribute to various mental health programs.

“The Gale family will manage the foundation; You are committed to distributing 100% of all net income to the foundation to those in need, and the contributions will be transparent and public.

“To properly celebrate who Riley was – and to publicly establish the Riley Gale Foundation – they are excited to celebrate the first annual Riley Gale & Friends Day Vol. 1 (RG Day Vol. 1). The first of many such events will be held on August 25, 2021 at Deep Ellum Art Co. in Dallas, TX. Everyone is invited to join in with music, memories, food and fun. And most importantly, to celebrate the life and legacy of Riley Gale.

“The event is free, but contributions to the Riley Gale Foundation are encouraged and appreciated. There will be a live and online auction with dozens of one-off pieces of music, merchandise, artwork, gift certificates, items from Riley’s personal collection, and more.
